3/6 [NHRI On-Site Seminar] "Current Status and Prospects of Non-Animal Alternative Methods for Human and Veterinary Drugs in Taiwan" Workshop

The National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), National Applied Research Laboratories' National Laboratory Animal Center, and National Central University’s College of Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology will jointly hold the workshop "Current Status and Prospects of Non-Animal Alternative Methods for Human and Veterinary Drugs in Taiwan" on March 6, 2025 (Thursday) at 9:00 AM at AJ Hotel (next to Hsinchu HSR Station) in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County.
In response to global trends in laboratory animal welfare, Taiwan continues to promote the 3R principles (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement) in batch testing for general veterinary drugs and animal vaccines. This includes eliminating animal-based safety tests from regulations and implementing strategies to reduce and replace animal testing while ensuring ethical and scientific advancements. Meanwhile, pharmacopeia guidelines and product-specific regulations for human biologics are also being updated through a rolling review process.
We sincerely invite experts from industry, government, academia, and research institutions involved in the development and evaluation of non-animal alternative methods to join this workshop. This event aims to facilitate experience-sharing and inspire discussions to drive innovation in non-animal alternative testing methods.
